It can be hard to keep a secret, but over the past year we have been busy laying the ground work for Redwood Robotics, a joint venture between Meka, SRI International, and Willow Garage. With Redwood we are throwing our hat in the ring alongside our friends Rethink Robotics (fka Heartland). Redwood’s goal is to build a next-generation robot solution for flexible manufacturing. Affordable, safe to operate alongside people, and simple to program, we believe that this new breed of robot arm can do for robotics what the personal computer did for computation.
